Pasargad Oil Company

Pasargad Oil Company (POC) is one of the biggest bitumen producers in the Middle East. It was established in 2003. This company is a governmental refinery. 

Pasargad Oil Company (POC) has 6 refineries in different cities of Iran. They produce bitumen with a wide variety and high quality based on international standards.

Approximately 1.5 million tons of this company's products are exported each year.

1. Penetration bitumen grades:

Such as  40/50 – 60/70 – 80/100 – 85/100.

This grade of bitumen is the most used bitumen in road construction.

Its lower grades are used in warm weather and its higher grades are used in cold climates.

2. Viscosity grades bitumen:

Such as VG10-VG20-VG30-VG40

This type of bitumen is classified in terms of viscosity at 60 ° C and 135 ° C. 

VG grades bitumen are mostly used in India.

3. Performance Grades (PG Grades): 

Such as PG 46-PG52-PG58-PG64-PG70-PG76-PG82

4. Emulsion bitumen:

Such as cationic emulsions, anionic emulsions, non-ionic emulsions, clay-stabilized emulsions in all groups of  RS-MS-SS.

This type of bitumen is a mixture of bitumen and water. 

The main usage of emulsion bitumen is in spraying the road surface.

5. Cutback bitumen:

Such as RC-MC-SC

Bitumen dissolved in an organic solvent is called cutback bitumen. 

Whenever it is not possible to heat bitumen, cutback bitumen is used in road construction.

Usually, this type of bitumen are used for spraying the road surface to maintain the road layers from damage.

Pasargad Oil Company (POC) uses the following packages for its exported bitumen:

• New Steel Drum
• Bulk bitumen
• Jumbo bag

A load of this refinery is also exported as bitumen in private packing beside the POC embossed drum (Pasargad Oil Embossed Drum).

This company has two main storages in Bandar Abbas (BAB) and Bandar Imam Khomeini (BIK) with a capacity of 40,000 MT that can load Bulk mother vessels.
